We are sad to see Tom Jackson step down as a Trustee of Water for Kids after many years of commitment and dedication. He is a hard act to follow. He was instrumental in the success of over 100 spring protections and a few large holistic projects in Uganda, working alongside Barbara Lucas (Trustee) and the Uganda Team led by Muzamiro Bidondole.
He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to lots of practical problems.
Barbara Lucas said “Over many years of travelling to Uganda (and Kenya) there have been happy times, challenging times, sad times and humbling times. I have learnt a lot – setting out footings, aligning gutters, working hard and making local friendships. There has always been one constant – Tom and his unfailing sense of humour. You have made such a difference to so many lives.“
We will really miss Tom.
