Help Shape the Future of Clean Water in Africa: Trustee Search

At Water for Kids, we believe clean water isn’t a luxury, it’s a human right. We are a small, agile UK charity with an impactful footprint, delivering life-changing water and sanitation projects across communities in Uganda and Zambia for nearly 30 years.

We are looking for a UK-based Trustee who understands the “on-the-ground” realities of East and Southern Africa. We don’t just build wells; we navigate complex local systems to ensure sustainability and the training of local stakeholders. We need your expertise to help us scale our impact and ensure our governance is as robust as our engineering.

We are specifically seeking an individual with a deep understanding of the operational or developmental landscapes in low-income countries, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. You might have a background in:

  • International development or NGO operations.
  • Local government structures or community-led infrastructure.
  • Sustainability and environmental health.

Why Join Us?

  • Direct Impact: In a small charity, your expertise directly influences our strategy and the lives of the children we serve.
  • Inclusion: We are committed to building a Board that reflects the diversity of our global projects. We want your unique perspective, not just your CV.
  • Commitment: Six meetings a year, half are in person, plus circa 8 hours per quarter direct involvement in a focus area to support the activities of the charity.
