Nine new spring sources protected in Uganda

Uganda 2020

In February 2020, two Trustees visited Uganda to meet up with the Water for Kids team and to check on work carried out since August 2019. Nine new spring sources had been protected and one had been repaired following damage by heavy rain. Tom Jackson and Barbara Lucas found the team working hard and in good spirits and communities now benefiting from clean water which they could collect safely.
In addition wash rooms for older girls had been completed at two schools and already attendances had improved. One of these projects was at Bukonko village; this community is now transformed with a borehole, new latrines and the girls washroom all funded by the generous climbers of Kilimanjaro from Leicester.
